Deputy McSwiggin abandons her support for fellow amendment 2 proposer Dudley-Owner at the last hurdle by voting for amendment 3, bringing the vote to 20 in favour and 19 against. Now she starts to ‘go off’ on another hobbyhorse – the climate, whilst ostensibly talking about amendment 2 (which she seconded). Not the time and not the place. Again, we have to stomach a Deputy with a personal hobbyhorse for another year – without a public mandate. Climate first, Guernsey second Deputy McSwiggin? Why not put that to an Island vote in a proper election?
